Service Description

PADI BASIC FREEDIVER (TASTER) The PADI Basic Freediver course is a subset of the PADI Freediver course. This is where you will learn all about the fast growing sport of Freediving and apnea. You will learn basic freediving principles and breathhold techniques in a pool or confined water site that will improve give you great confidence in the water and surprise you as to what you can achieve. To enroll in a PADI Basic Freediver course you must be 12 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required. COURSE COST £125 (£175 includes freediver touch) (introductory price until March) Price includes, all equipment and pool fees. Entrance fees to dive site are charged separately if applicable. It does not include the Freediver touch which is charged separately. If you are doing this course as part of the full PADI Freediver course you only pay for the freediver touch once, not twice. FREEDIVER COURSE OUTLINE The PADI Basic Freediver course consists of two main phases: Knowledge development through independent study with the PADI Freediver eLearning and some short classroom lectures and tests Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea, plus proper buddy procedures. Our minimum requirements to pass are – static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet but we always aim to achieve more and through the club structure afterwards you will be surprised as to how much improvements we can get for you. EQUIPMENT In the PADI Basic Freediver course, you learn to use a mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt. We provide all specialist Freediving equipment so you can do it properly. It is possible to enjoy the sport using basic snorkelling equipment. We can discuss this on your Freediving course.
